Pickup procedure at Midway

Your chauffeur meets you in the baggage-claim area of Midway's single terminal, holding a sign with your name. The terminal has Concourses A, B, and C, but all baggage carousels are on the lower level. After you collect luggage, exit toward the central arrivals hall. The CTA Orange Line connects Midway to the Loop. Midway does not allow private vehicles to wait at the curb directly outside the terminal. The car waits in a designated commercial lot until you are ready. Please turn on your phone once the plane lands. The chauffeur will call or text when you reach the meeting point. We track your flight and adjust for early or late arrivals without extra charge.

Sedan pricing from Midway

Midway sedan transfers start at $130 to the Loop and $130 to Oak Brook. Most North Side and suburban destinations fall between a written flat rate and $150. A sedan to Naperville starts around $130. Schaumburg starts around a written flat rate. Hyde Park starts around a written flat rate. Each rate covers point-to-point sedan service with meet-and-greet and luggage assistance. Gratuity, tolls, and parking fees incurred at the terminal are not included. SUVs, executive vans, and sprinters cost more. A late-night surcharge of $15 applies between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. These prices cover point-to-point service with no extra stops. Additional stops or multi-point itineraries are billed at hourly charter rates.

Drive times from Midway

The Loop is usually 20 to 35 minutes away in normal traffic. Suburban destinations can take 40 to 65 minutes. The Stevenson Expressway and Cicero Avenue are the main exits from the airport. White Sox games at Guaranteed Rate Field, Bears games at Soldier Field, and rush hour on the Dan Ryan can slow the trip.

Booking lead times

Book at least 24 hours ahead for a standard Midway transfer. Reserve 48 hours ahead during major conventions, Bears home games, or holiday travel weeks. Same-day service is often available, but choices shrink after 8 p.m. For departures, we recommend reaching Midway 90 minutes before domestic flights. International travelers should arrive two hours early.

A real limitation

Midway has fewer ground-transportation options than O'Hare, especially after the last Orange Line train. Late-night arrivals sometimes face longer waits for affiliate chauffeurs because the airport lot closes sections overnight. If you land after midnight and need an immediate exit, a taxi or rideshare may be quicker.

Why Midway is the practical Chicago airport

Midway sits on the Southwest Side at Cicero Avenue and 55th Street, about 11 miles from the Loop. It is smaller than O’Hare and everything runs through one terminal, so walking from the gate to baggage claim and out to the car is short. For travelers heading downtown, to Hyde Park, to the Illinois Medical District or to the western suburbs along I-55 and I-88, it is often the quicker airport door to door.

The main road out is the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), which runs northeast to the Loop and southwest toward the suburbs. Cicero Avenue and Pulaski Road are the surface alternatives when the Stevenson is slow. For Oak Brook and Naperville, chauffeurs usually connect to I-294 or I-88 rather than going through downtown.

Departing from Midway

For departures, the car comes to your hotel, office or home at the agreed time and drops you at the departures curb for your airline. We suggest arriving about 90 minutes before a domestic flight. Because Midway uses one centralized security checkpoint, lines can build at peak morning and evening times; if you are flying out on a Friday afternoon or a holiday weekend, allow a little more.
