How a one-way ride works
You give us the pickup address, the drop-off, the date and time, and how many people and bags are traveling. The booking form prices the trip for the vehicle class you choose and confirms it before you commit. On the day, the chauffeur arrives at least 15 minutes early and contacts you when in position. There is no meter running and no surge price at the end of the ride.
Point-to-point is the right product when there is one destination. If your plans include several stops, or you need the car to wait while you are inside, an hourly charter is normally better value and saves rebooking.
What one-way rides cost
One-way trips start at $130 in an executive sedan and $160 in an SUV. The final price depends on distance, time of day and vehicle class. As a guide from our route pages: downtown Chicago to Midway starts at $220 in a sedan, downtown to O’Hare starts at $220, O’Hare to Rosemont starts at $190, and Chicago to Milwaukee starts at $400. S-Class and Sprinter one-way trips are quoted in the booking form for the specific route.
Common one-way trips in Chicago
- Loop, River North or Magnificent Mile hotel to Midway or O’Hare
- Midway to an Oak Brook or Naperville office
- O’Hare to a Schaumburg hotel or Rosemont convention venue
- Evanston or the North Shore to downtown for an evening event
- Union Station or Ogilvie to a client meeting
- Chicago to Milwaukee, Indianapolis or Detroit for regional business
Picking the vehicle
The E-Class sedan suits one to three passengers with standard bags. The Escalade takes up to six and is the sensible choice in snow or with heavy luggage. The S-Class is for occasions where the car is part of the welcome. A Sprinter moves up to fourteen people as one group, which is often cheaper than several cars when everyone is going to the same place.
Timing around Chicago traffic
Weekday expressway rush generally runs from about 6:30 to 9:30 in the morning and from mid-afternoon into the evening. The Jane Byrne Interchange, where the Kennedy, Dan Ryan and Eisenhower meet near the Loop, is the usual pinch point. When you book a time-critical ride, tell us the time you need to arrive rather than the time you want to leave, and we will suggest a pickup that allows for the traffic you are likely to meet.
